The Environmental Task Force of Jasper and Newton Counties, the Lower Shoal Creek Watershed Partnership and the Spring River Watershed Partnership share this website because of their common issues.
The Environmental Task Force of Jasper and Newton Counties is dedicated to maintaining and improving the soil, water and air quality of Jasper and Newton Counties. The task force was formed to address the impact of contaminants introduced as the result of area mining and neglect.
The Lower Shoal Creek Watershed Partnership was formed to plan and act on watershed issues for Shoal Creek.
The Spring River Watershed Partnership was formed to plan and act on watershed issues for Spring River.

The picture on the left is Mineral Branch off of Hwy D, north of Webb City, MO right before it flows into Center Creek. Even though it appears tranquil and appealing, it is contaminated with zinc which adds to the "impaired" condition of Center Creek.
